I am from Korea and received BSE in Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University. I came to US for graduate studies and studied changes in mechanical properties of endothelial cells lining blood vessels during interactions with white blood cells and received MS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. In my postdoctoral trainings, I studied the roles of the extracellular environment in breast cancer progression, and later, the roles of the extracellular matrix in inflammatory and immune responses.
