Colleen O’Connor (Graduate Student) is a graduate student at UW in the Department of Bioengineering. Colleen received her B.S. in Biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where she developed and characterized novel pH-responsive hydrogel-based oral protein delivery systems in Dr. Nicholas Peppas’s lab. Colleen is currently interested in using bioprinted tissue constructs to study the mechanisms underlying liver regeneration.

Sarah Saxton Graduate Student

Emily Olszewski (Graduate Student) is a graduate student in the Department of Bioengineering in the Stevens and Davis labs. Emily received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied laryngeal acoustics and aerodynamics and later began work on a cellular-based model of macular degeneration. Emily is currently interested in fibrotic remodeling of cardiac tissue and is working to build a model of scar development for testing immune cell-based therapies to regenerate myocardium after heart injuries, either post-myocardial infarction or post-surgical correction of congenital heart defects in newborns and children.
